Standards of Community Care Agreement
The mission of Patchwork Kinfolx is to uplift and support the marginalized members of our community. We strive to foster safe spaces and community oriented projects as well as seeking to advance the creative arts and culture of our area. We take responsibility for each other because we believe that we are all we have. We believe our art and our stories are valid cultural currency that we can reinvest into our communities. We are the ALL in y’all. We are everyday people united in struggle.
Membership benefits include a biannual newsletter with organizational news and special artistic content found only in the newsletter. Members are given voices and encouraged to participate in Project Workgroups. Please note, all final decisions are made by the Board. Members also receive voting privileges for merchandise designs. Members are encouraged and empowered to imagine projects that fit with our core values.
Patchwork Kinfolx DO NOT tolerate homophobia, transphobia, sexism, racism, abelism, classism, fatphobia, ageism, antisemitism, and xenophobia. We are committed to creating networks of community care. By signing this agreement you are making a commitment to uphold these values when you are in our shared spaces or at our events. If you are unsure about what some of these words mean please feel free to reach out to us for clarification. Failure to uphold these values will result in loss of membership and forfeiture of membership dues. We are aware that many of us come from different places of understanding and we value and invest in community growth. Because we believe that a lot of folx can’t do better til they know better we have instituted a two strike policy for violations of the Community Care Agreement. The first violation will result in a private warning and an open and honest discussion about the offense. Folx committing a second violation will be automatically stripped of membership and will forfeit membership dues.
Please reread this document before signing and please reach out with any questions or concerns.
Welcome to the family.
